CMS Publishes Map Showing Counties With One Or No ACA Insurers In 2018.

In an online article, CNBC (6/13) reports that according to a map created by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services indicating the number of counties that “could have zero or just one insurer selling Obamacare health plans in 2018,” as many as 1,200 counties – 40 percent of the nation’s counties – “are projected as of now to have just one insurer selling individual plans next year,” while 47 counties with at least 35,000 ACA policyholders live in areas where “no insurer is expected to sell 2018.” According to CMS Administrator Seema Verma, the map presents “yet another failing report card for the [Obamacare] exchanges.”
